Prepare to be star struck when you head down to Empress Road market…well, sort of. There’s a fish monger there who is a spitting image of the famous Hong Kong action movie star, Jackie Chan.

In an email to STOMP today (Feb 9), STOMPer OhEmmGee says:

“This famous fish monger has an uncanny resemblance to famous Hong Kong star Jackie Chan.”

According to an article on Soshiok.com:

Fish monger Zhang Sui Xing, 48, is a spitting image of the famous Hong Kong action movie star and has been mistaken for Jackie Chan by many who met him at the market in Empress Road.

Zhang, who has operated his fish stall there for over 20 years, has become a popular icon at the wet market, attracting many housewives – some even called “Aunty killer”.

“My business is very good. Many customers will call me ‘Chen Long’ (Jackie’s Chinese name),” he told a local newspaper.

Not enough seats? No worries, 3 China girls can squeeze into 2 seats

February 8, 2010 Kia Hawk Leave a comment

STOMPer Squuzy was amused by how these three China girls managed to make full use of the limited number of seats on board the MRT.

He told us in an email today (Feb 8):

“I was on the train heading towards Pasir Ris yesterday (Feb 7) when I saw this squeezy act by 3 women from China.

“How do I know they were from China? Their accent was a big give-away.

“Somewhat oblivious to stares around them, they were still giggling and laughing while the people opposite and beside them were wondering: Are we supposed to squeeze 3 people into 2 seats going forward?”

Yet another poly girl scandal: She looks for sugar daddies online

February 5, 2010 Kia Hawk Leave a comment

Young Singaporean girls still do not seem to care about the repercussions of displaying their open behaviour online, as another case has surfaced, about a girl from a polytechnic who offers ‘freelance services’ and has a preference for ’sugardaddies’ below 40 years old.

According to the online ad, the girl provides ‘topless sensual massage’ and other ’special services’.

She says she used to work as a model and is providing the services to pay for her studies and to pay for her mother’s medical treatment.

STOMPer Modestyeest, who said he received the link to the online advertisement via email, said:

“I was shocked to see that some of our young polytechnic girls (19 to 22) are openly soliciting on the Internet without any qualms or an uneasy conscience.

“I am not sure if their parents are aware of what they are doing on the quiet.

“They even pose semi nude in their websites and they declare to all and sundry that their families are in financial difficulties.

“If this trend is on the rise then the poly authorities should look into this very serious problem of their young students.”

This latest report came just after STOMP published the case of another polytechnic girl exposing her chest with her boyfriend and posting the pictures on her blog.

These two cases are just some of the numerous reports STOMP has received in the past few months, highlighting the worrying trend of youths openly displaying their misbehaviour online.

Other similar cases reported to STOMP by concerned netizens include underageds teens smoking, shoplifting and even describing their sex life in detail for all to read.

Man accused of posing as nurse and molesting patient in hospital

February 5, 2010 Kia Hawk Leave a comment

A MAN allegedly gained access to a ward at Raffles Hospital while impersonating a female nurse.

At about 9.20am on Jan 28, Sim Siang Heng is said to have entered a room occupied by a 28-year-old flight attendant and touched her breasts.

The 40-year-old technical officer is also accused of entering another room of the same ward with intent to annoy a 31-year-old woman patient.

Sim, who has been remanded at the Institute of Mental Health for psychiatric observation, was yesterday charged with trespassing into the two patients’ rooms at the hospital and one charge of molestation.

No plea was taken from Sim.

A statement from the hospital yesterday said investigation showed that he had allegedly slipped in by wearing a dress similar to that of the hospital’s nurses.

After the incident, the first patient was transferred to a room near the nurses’ station for closer observation. The hospital also arranged for a psychiatrist and counsellor to attend to her.

“Our patients’ security is important to us. This is the first time such an incident has occurred in the hospital,” it said.

The hospital in North Bridge Road has since put in extra security measures to control access to the wards, such as locking the side doors to the wards and placing a security officer outside.

The hospital regretted the incident and reassured patients of their safety and that steps have been taken to strengthen the security of its wards.

If convicted, Sim faces a jail term of up to two years or fine or caning or any combined sentence for outrage of modesty.

For trespass, he can be jailed for up to one year or fined up to $3,000 on each charge.

Poly girl poses topless with BF and posts pictures on blog

February 3, 2010 Kia Hawk Leave a comment

STOMPers have expressed both surprise and embarrassment with the audacity of this girl who is posing with her chest exposed in a series of online pictures taken with her boyfriend. The girl is reportedly a local polytechnic student, and the pictures were apparently posted on her blog.

STOMPer Vanessa wrote in to say:

“At times I really wonder are we so open-minded or am I still living at stone-age, but reading this post online really surprised me.

“Apparently a local polytechnic girl posted photos with her boyfriend of which, some are naked.

“Why are they exposing themselves to the whole world?

“I seriously think that polytechnics and tertiary institutions should include moral education as one of their core subjects.”

STOMPer Norman, who also came across the pictures, said:

“I have something to report: the pictures show a poly student exposing herself.

“I find the pictures a disgrace as she’s a girl and this is spoiling the reputation of the school.”

Mediacorp exec slammed maid’s head against wall for eating biscuits

Woman said to have slapped maid so hard that her nose bled
A Filipino maid has accused her employer of assaulting her over eating some biscuits without permission.

Annie Tan, 39, a MediaCorp executive, is on trial for allegedly grabbing Ms Vilma Lambino Manuel by her head and banging it against the wall at her Bishan flat on Sept 18, 2008.

The assistant vice-president, sales, is also said to have slapped the Filipina’s face so hard that her nose bled.

Ms Manuel, 37, who is working elsewhere now, testified yesterday that her employer, who has a young daughter, was drunk when the assaults took place.

She said that Tan had come home late on Sept 17, and had wanted to know if Ms Manuel had done all her chores. She then asked who had eaten some biscuits from a tin.

When Ms Manuel confessed to eating them, Tan grabbed her head and pushed the back of it against the wall three times.

“I felt pain. She slapped my face twice. It landed near my nose. It was very painful and I was dizzy,” Ms Manuel said in Tagalog, through an interpreter.

She then covered her face with her arms as Tan threw the tin of biscuits at her. Tan also grabbed her wrists and forced them to her side, which left scratches on the maid’s arms.

In the toilet, where Ms Manuel went to wash the blood from her nose, Tan stomped on the maid’s leg twice.

She told her to change out of her bloodstained clothes, and then gave her $12 to buy cigarettes.

Downstairs, Ms Manuel sought help from the cashier at a 7-Eleven convenience store.

The cashier called the police, and Ms Manuel was taken by ambulance to the hospital.

Dr Megan Chan, the medical officer at Tan Tock Seng Hospital’s emergency department, found swelling on Ms Manuel’s head and slight tenderness over the nasal bone. There was a dried blood clot in the right nostril and scratch marks on her right forearm.

Mr Gurdaib Singh, the lawyer for Tan, will cross-examine the maid today.

If convicted, Tan faces a jail term of up to three years and/or a fine of up to $7,500 on each charge.
